The Sapey Cross Country Course is an ideal venue for Trainers and Riding Instructors to teach and hold private clinics and a top rate schooling facility for individual riders. Riding Clubs and Pony Clubs are welcome to hire the course for rallies and club activities.
The course runs over permanent pasture and the old turf gives a cushioned ride and many of the more permanent fences have all-weather take offs and landings. Grass harrows, slitters and rolls are used to ensure that the going is kept in the best possible condition.
The dressage arenas and show jumping arenas are also on a grass surface and traditional wooden poles and fillers are used.
There is no time limit for schooling just phone or email to say what time you are planning to arrive, however, please bear in mind that the course is closed for a period of time before an event in order to set-up the competition course. Please check the News page for details prior to each event.
Weather conditions may also affect the course on occasions and in order to give the ground a rest, we are closed through the winter from November to April. If in doubt, please check that the course is open before setting out.
To use the course, please pre-book either by:

Note: Clubs and Riding Instructors who are planning to use Sapey as a venue for their own Training Clinics and would like to add the session to our ‘News’ page, please contact us with details.
